Strengthening the Bamboo Value Chain
We focus on Guadua angustifolia Kunth, a native Ecuadorian bamboo prized for its strength, fast growth, and ecological benefits.
We collaborate with researchers, designers, and bamboo enterprises to scale bamboo-based construction in Ecuador and beyond — from regenerative cultivation to the development of prefabricated structural panels.

Agroforestry, Restoring Land and Livelihoods
We believe the best way to restore degraded land is by empowering farmers as the drivers of regeneration — offering proven methods, tools, and training to support both ecosystem health and sustainable livelihoods.
Through our own demonstration on our 70 acre farm campus and farmer training programs, Building Carbon inspires and equips farmers to scale regenerative practices that build resilience and reduce vulnerability to increasingly volatile climates and agricultural markets.

Puyo Pilot Social House
This project was prefabricated at the Regeneration Field Institute and shipped to the Ecuadorian Amazon, where the whole build was completed in less than 1 month.

2025 Syntropic Agroforestry Training Program
In 2025 we are implementing a 25 farm agroforestry training pilot project funded by Rotary International Foundation. All participants implemented 100 x 100’ practice plots on their farms after receiving in depth training.

Cacao Company Incubation
Building Carbon leadership is working on a parallel project to begin a post harvest processing center that ferments and dry ancestral ‘fine aroma’ cacao varieties. As this project grows, it will ensure that farmers in our training programs receive fair prices and that the cacao is valued for quality and ecological production methods.
